Randi Shapiro and Mindy Strich say “if you aren’t happy at work, you aren’t happy in life.” It’s the new year, so it’s a good time to make changes and be happy.

Every thought, emotion and event of your life is recorded and in your cells. Human beings send and receive information to and from the environment through the human bio (energy) field. Information gets sifted through the chakras (the body’s seven major energy centers) and stored in our tissues and cells.
Imbalances and disruptions in the flow of energy  can cause  disease, pain, and unhealthy emotional and physical conditions.

This can happen at home or at work.

Corporate recruiter Randi Shapiro and , Mindy Strich of Healing Hearts, LLC give their take on working yourself to death.

DEATH BY OVERWORK
“Unnatural work produces too much stress.”
 — BHAGAVAD GITA

You already know that workplace hazards can harm your health. The soldier dies in battle. The policeman gets caught in the criminal’s crosshairs. A construction worker falls from a 20-story building. A researcher experiences a biohazard accident and winds up with a rare infectious disease.
What you do during your workday can clearly affect the body. But it affects the body not just through physical hazards. It also affects the body through the power of the mind, which responds to what you do during your workday by either triggering stress responses or initiating relaxation responses. But you may have also experienced times at work when you’re doing what you love, you’re in the flow, you feel a sense of mission and purpose, and you’re grateful to be doing something that matters. Such feelings can benefit the body as much as stress responses harm it.
We all know that work stress is poisonous and can translate into physical symptoms. Anyone who has ever gotten a migraine after a deal went bad or stiff shoulders after the boss criticized[…]

Thoughts from Randi and Mindy:

Randi:

If you aren’t happy at work- make some changes. Do something you love and make your career out of it. I know it sounds easier said than done, but get with a recruiter and see what opportunities may be out there. Research and investigate your options. Talk to others that have followed their dream.  The new year means new changes and if work is getting you sick, or you are sick of what you are doing for work- find your true purpose.

Mindy:

When we are unhappy at work it’s a clear sign that  something in our life is out of balance.  I suspect that people who “love their work” rather than “live to work” are all around happier and healthier.   If your work doesn’t fulfill you then it may be time to look deeper into what is holding you back from different career choices.  It can’t just be about the money. Like the saying goes, money doesn’t buy happiness.
