The Super Bowl will be played on Sunday and billions of people will be watching.

the winning point

The winning team will be honored on the field with a trophy presentation and a celebrations with all the fans.  But what happens to the losing team when the game ends?

While the winning team celebrates, the losing team is shuffled off the field and barricades are set up where they can’t enter. They are almost treated like second class citizens as soon as the clock hits 0:00. Losing a regular season football game hurts, but losing the biggest game of the year really stings. Many of these players work their whole lives to reach and play in this game and many will never have the chance again.

For those that have been on a “losing team” or those that have experienced a tough loss….”Our greatest victories can occur from what appears at the time to be a difficult loss. Losing a job that leads to a new career, a painful divorce that opens your heart to a new love, it  doesn’t feel good to “lose”  but the big win comes from what we gain from the experience.”

When these athletes are long retired and look back on playing in the biggest dream of their lives, a smile is bound to form on their face. Even the “losing” teams at some point will realize what an experience it was.   Ultimately there are no losers. It’s a win-win. Be in the moment. Be grateful for the experience.  Enjoy!
