Food For Thought2

It’s common knowledge that eating right and exercising is good for your health. We get that. We also get that we can choose…Big Macs or broccoli, sitting on the couch or cycling in the streets.  What we choose to eat and how much daily physical activity we participate in are ingredients for a healthy life. And so is choosing what we think.

It’s not our genes that control our lives…. It’s our beliefs.

Leading scientists such as Noble prize candidate, Dr. Candace Pert, author of Molecules of Emotion and cellular biologist, Dr. Bruce Lipton, author of The Biology of Belief have validated that our thoughts and beliefs create neurochemical reactions in our bodies. Positive and happy thoughts and emotions actually create chemicals that are transmitted in our bodies and are good for our health while negative thoughts and emotions do the opposite.  I have often imagined the day when we will see warnings that say…

“Your thoughts can be harmful to your health, think at your own risk.”

We can no longer ignore that what we choose to think has a profound impact on our health. Not adding what you think into your daily health routine is like working out at the gym and then going home to eat a hot fudge Sunday.

Filling your mind with unhealthy thoughts is no different than filling your stomach with unhealthy food.

Here’s a tip for the countless number of people that are now beginning their annual journey back to the gym, resolving to lose weight and get in shape;

This year consider what you are feeding your mind.  It just might be the one missing ingredient for a healthy life.

Wishing you all a happy, healthy and healing  new year.

Listen to the whispers,

Mindy
